Meet Claire

Claire Taylor, M.Ed., LPC-Intern is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern under the supervision of Lora Ferguson, LPC-S. Claire is a warm, compassionate clinician who seeks to empower those who feel unheard. She creates a safe environment where children, adolescents, young adults, and their families are free to be vulnerable and authentically themselves. Claire helps her clients achieve their full potential by building meaningful connections and tailoring treatment to each individual’s specific needs.

Claire graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. Claire continued her education at Vanderbilt University where she earned her Master of Education in Human Development Counseling. While at Vanderbilt, Claire worked with children and adolescents in elementary and high school settings. Her clients faced significant social, emotional, economic, and academic challenges along with various types of trauma. Claire utilized a variety of methods including play- and art-based interventions to help them process their emotions and learn new skills. She considers it an honor to walk with her clients through their pain and support them as they affect change in their own lives.

Claire views her work through a developmental and trauma-informed lens. Often when we experience traumatic and distressing events in our lives, we feel stuck, scared, ashamed, and unsure of ourselves. Claire’s goal is to help her clients own their stories, discover their true identities, embrace their strengths, and grow in light of their experiences.

As a native Texan, Claire is thrilled to be practicing in Austin. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, barre, yoga, playing tennis, cooking, exploring Austin’s live music scene, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, and spending time with her friends and family.
