College & Coping: How to be a smarter, stronger, and less-stressed applicant

Join us for a free talk in collaboration with Collegewise Austin to learn how to manage the college application process with more ease and less stress! This talk is ideal for parents (and teens) in 8th-11th grades.

Blake & Tracy, creators of the TeenWise ® Team and Directors at GT Therapy Group will speak to stress-reducing strategies for parents and students to help them navigate high school and the applications process with lightness, positivity, and sanity. Learn how to work with, not against, your teen's brain, and how teaching (and using!) self-compassion can change your relationship with your teen and help the whole family feel calmer and more connected through the college application process.

Rebecca from Collegwise will help separate college admissions fact from fiction. She will discuss grades, test scores, activities and everything else colleges evaluate. She will talk about strategies for healthy and effective SAT/ACT prep including when to begin to prep, choosing the SAT vs. ACT and how to study. You will walk away with straight answers about what college admission committees really look for and how they ultimately decide who gets in. Rebecca believes you will be pleasantly surprised to learn that kids don’t have to be trilingual, opera-singing rocket scientists to get into college today.

Holiday Open House

Holiday Open House.PNG

Sugar cookie decorating! Hot cocoa station! Face painting! Yard games! Art activities! This isn't your average open house. This is a celebration of community! Join us on December 9th as we open our doors for a look inside our therapy practices and a chance to meet the therapists who bring our space to life each day. So much of what happens in the therapy realm stays behind closed doors, and we want to demystify our inner world and celebrate this wonderful community that we serve. This event is for our colleagues, our family, our friends, our neighbors and our community, and all ages are welcome. Thank you for being a part of our circle and for celebrating our first year in the historic Burt House.

*Due to its historic designation, we regret that our offices and restroom are not wheelchair accessible. Activities outside downstairs will be accessible to all.
