ProTip: Embrace the Unknown
This is for the therapists in the room...
We've been thinking a lot about vulnerability and taking risks, both personally and professionally. Lately we have taken a lot of big leaps into the unknown, from new parenthood to a relaunch of our group practice, and every step along the way comes with a big inhale...hold it...exhale. And as risky as stepping into the unknown sometimes feels, it is also exhilarating and liberating. So much so that we want you all to feel what we're feeling right now! Inspired, energized, hopeful and very vulnerable, with just enough anxiety to tell us that we are moving in the right direction...towards the unknown with all its infinite possibility.
How do you get in on this, you ask? Well, one way is to join us on September 17 for our Improv for Therapists workshop! Facilitated by gifted therapist, award-winning comedic actor and local celebrity Rachel Madorsky, this workshop will gently invite you to step into the unknown and embrace yourself fully as you are. A basic tenet of improv is "yes, and..." and this is about trusting that we are in this together, that whatever we each bring to the table is enough, and that we all agree to jump in together, wholeheartedly and without reservation. In many ways it is a reflection of who we are as therapists and how we invite our clients to step into our safe space, and agree to join them through empathic connection.
So grab a buddy and come embrace the unknown with us for a night out at the theater in the supportive company of your peers, where we will co-create the entertainment! Trust that we are all in this together, getting vulnerable, taking chances, and opening our hearts and minds to a truly unforgettable experience.
