Get to Know Tracy:
I am a nerd and weirdo, and proud of it. Nerds and weirdos don’t always come in the same shapes and packages. For me, I express this part of myself through an avid love of fantasy, magical worlds, art making, and intense creativity. I love my inner world of imagination and bringing my two boys along for the exciting ride. Singing is another love and soul-nurturing aspect of my life. I am a 14+ year member of Tapestry Singers, a choir for women. I am also part of their a cappella group, Loose Threads. I served as president to the Tapestry board, among other board and committee roles past and present. Fun facts: During undergrad and grad school, I was a nanny to a musical family with two gifted kids and provided voice lessons to middle school students.
Therapeutic Approach:
I am a passionate, creative, and relational therapist who believes meaningful growth happens when you feel safe enough to be fully real. I primarily work with young adults, adults, parents, and professionals, helping clients deepen self-understanding and move toward greater everyday experiences of peace, fulfillment, and self-acceptance.
For over a decade, I have dedicated my clinical focus to understanding the gifted and talented (GT) population and the complex social, emotional, and developmental landscape that often accompanies giftedness. Growing up with the gifted label myself, I bring both professional expertise and personal insight into the nuanced strengths and challenges that can come with an intense, curious, and deeply feeling mind. The term “gifted” is layered and often misunderstood, and I value creating space with clients to explore and unpack what that label has meant in their lives. My goal is always to help clients move beyond labels and connect with their authentic, multifaceted selves.
My therapeutic style blends insight, neuroscience, and relational work, but you can count on me to also weave in humor, imagination, and even playfulness into sessions alongside mindfulness, compassion, and deep acceptance. I thrive upon the meaningful and magnificent connections I make with my clients and the world at large.
Professional Background:
My education in psychology and counseling began at The University of Texas at Austin and continued at St. Edward’s University, where I graduated with honors. I spent seven formative years at Austin Child Guidance Center, where I developed deep clinical experience in trauma and attachment work, child development, family systems, and parent support before transitioning into full-time private practice.
From 2012 to 2016, I served as a consultant and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) educator for Magellan International School. During my time there, I developed an individualized SEL curriculum for the International Baccalaureate program that was implemented through classroom workshops, parent education, and small group instruction.
I completed advanced training with ADHD expert James Ochoa, LPC, through an immersive and intensive program that strengthened my specialty and passion for supporting individuals with ADD/ADHD. My ongoing professional training has focused on Internal Family Systems (IFS), Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Relational Therapy, Systems Work, and giftedness, including twice-exceptionality.
In 2025, I graduated from Robyn Gobbel’s year-long Immersion Program for Professionals through the Baffling Behaviors Institute and became a Certified Course Facilitator for Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors. This advanced training integrates Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Polyvagal Theory, the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), Attachment Theory, and Relational Neuroscience to provide a comprehensive, brain- and relationship-based framework for supporting families. I am especially passionate about helping parents understand and support children with highly sensitized nervous systems, translating neuroscience into practical, compassionate strategies that foster regulation, safety, and connection. I deeply value long-term therapeutic relationships and feel honored to walk alongside clients through multiple stages of growth and development.
I am a member of the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the Austin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and Austin InConnection. I am also a licensed supervisor for LPC Associates and LMFT Associates (not currently taking supervisees) and provide mentorship, consultation, and training for the GT Therapy team.
